Amazing lucid PJ! Very inspiring, and well described, i think i will be giving this a try now to! And great thinking of you to fly to the other side of the world and watch the sun rise!

Quote from: pj on May 14, 2010, 06:11:44 AM(I am wide awake and aching at 2:30 AM, so I use the opportunity for WBTB, coming upstairs and staying awake for a bit, then settling on the couch.  I'm really awake though, and efforts to WILD don't seem to be working.  I do multiple RCs hoping for INRALD, but no.  I decide to try Clairity's "rocking out of your body" thing.  I end up just about out of my body twice before finding myself on hands and knees next to the couch.  I stand up and do a nose RC - yep.  Arrived.)

That sounds so cool! I hope i can get back to learning WILD soon!

(Still sick, but seem to be getting better.  Weird night, likely because of heavy duty meds. . . )

Building an Energy Wall

I am being taught how to construct a very strong, permanent wall out of nothing but thought energy.  My teacher is very adept at it, and is patient as s/he guides me into thinking the right thought, allowing the resonance to build to the right point and then placing the piece appropriately.  Soon I get very good at it and am building without any intervention at all.

Short because it's really hard to describe.  It was actually quite involved and a rather long dream.

(Finally seem to be getting better.  Had a good night's sleep and remember this one dream.  Fever is gone, but heavy chest congestion remains, which is risky for me because I'm prone to pneumonia.)

I am in my early 20s and on a college campus.  I've joined a creative writing class and this is the first day, but I'm having trouble finding it.

A friendly fellow notices that I'm floundering and asks if he can help me out.  I explain where I'm going, and he say that's exactly where he is headed anyway.  As we walk, he talks excitedly about this class, and how the young lady teacher is absolutely incredible.

When we get to the building and the classroom, I realize I have neither paper for notes nor a writing instrument.  I find a piece of paper on a table to the side, but it turns out to be a mock-up of the Wall Street Journal.  I flip it over hoping it is blank on the back, but it isn't - there are classified ads there.  One of the ads, I notice, is for D'Art - my band!  The line under it reads, "Pop, jazz and variety, for all occasions."  I laugh to myself, because the "all occasions" thing is ridiculous considering we play almost all original material, but I think it's pretty good for a fake ad in a mock-up paper.

The teacher comes in, and the class is immediately silent.  She is a slender lady whose age is difficult to pin down - she could have passed for anything from early 20's to early 40's, really.  She has short, curly reddish-brown hair, and is wearing a modest reddish sweater and a long skirt.  Her eyes are absolutely amazing - a sort of silvery blue-gray color, and you KNOW it when she's looking at you.

She begins her lecture, but it is unlike any lecture I have ever heard.  Her searchlight eyes scan the class as she speaks in semi-melodic rhyme that quickly entrances everybody.  I don't care that I can't take notes - I wouldn't want to take my eyes off of her for even a moment.

Time disappears as she goes on.  Her body moves in rhythm with the sounds she is making, and it is art, and I just want to keep watching.  Then her searchlight gaze is locked right on me, and I start to squirm.  I can't take it, but she remains focused into my eyes and into me.  I can't break my gaze even though I want to, and she doesn't look away.  She is beyond beautiful but oh so dangerous.  I can do nothing but sit and try to keep my mouth closed.

I realize that everybody around me is now standing and repeating a simple melodic chant.  I rise to my feet as well, but I can't recognize the words and do not join in the ritual.  She finally breaks her gaze from me, and when she does the class begins filing out, sill chanting.  I follow them out into the hallway.

My companion joins me, and asks how I liked it.  I reply that it was quite an experience, but I'm not sure exactly what I learned or got out of it.  He laughs and says that I'll be back - everybody always comes back.  She's the most popular instructor on campus, and that I will indeed get something out of it.

He tells me that she is the very successful author of a manga called "12 or 21", which is based around a mysterious young lady with no recollection of where she came from, but who has some incredibly hand-to-hand combat skills and some other very useful talents.  He says it is a wildly popular series that has been ongoing for many years and sells worldwide.  He says he believes the heroine of her books is based on her real life persona.  I nod in agreement, thinking that I really need to get my hands on one of her books to try to learn more about her.

(Very successful CWILD night, but not so good on recall still.  I remember bits of three lucids - there were probably more.  I did a long WBTB, though not intentionally.  Took guarana, L-theanine and DHEA and then lay awake for almost two hours.  Once I got back to sleep, however, I had intense HI and was able to WILD effortlessly.  No recall of dreams before WBTB, and here is what I remember of the rest:)

Entering A Cartoon

I am watching a cartoon develop in HI.  It is vivid and stable, so I reach my hands forward and see them appear in the cartoon.  I step in with my whole body while watching my hands and am in and quite lucid.  It gradually becomes 3d but I never really do anything.  It is just an un-detailed and unrealistic room.

In The Office With Wrong Clocks

I am at the office.  Instead of the one clock, there are three - and each is set to a different hour.  The one I think is right says 3:30.  Another says 2:30, and a third says 1:30.  I ask D. about it, and he says he likes it that way.  I decide it would be best to just use the computers to keep track of time then.

I log into one of the servers, but the time zone says something meaningless, so I RC and find I'm dreaming.  I stand up and double-check, and yes.  I'm quite clear headed and want to enter Moonbeam's dreamspace and find her.  There is an old white wooden panel door in a wall that leads out to the roof that isn't there IRL.  I walk to that door and decide I am going to pass through it into Moonbeam's dreamspace.  I push through. . .

And emerge in what looks like a medical office.  It is full of young men and women.  The men are all shirtless and the women are all wearing bras and bikini tops, but have normal slacks and skirts on below, as you would expect in an office environment.  I look around and pick a blond DC.  I ask where Moonbeam is.  She tells me that she's not here.  I turn and walk away from her, to the first man I encounter.  "Where is Moonbeam?"  I ask.  He just shrugs.

I rise up a bit and fly around through the office, looking about.  I find one woman in a business suit who is wearing a normal blouse and jacket on top.  She has shoulder-length, very dark brown, straight hair.  I land next to her - she is shorter than I am.  I ask her where Moonbeam is.  She looks at me, then leans in and kisses me on the lips.  "Where is Moonbeam?"  I ask again.  She looks at me, seemingly puzzled.  "Answer me!"  I demand.  "Why do I have to answer you?  Because it is your dream?"  she asks.  "Yes - exactly,"  I reply.  "I don't know," she says, then turns away.

(I wake briefly and take some notes.)

Abstract HI

I watch as a tiny blob of morphing plasma develops in my field of vision and focus very intently on it.  It grows until filling my entire field of vision and I am in the dream without effort.  The dream, however, has no form, and I don't either.  There are multi-dimensional membranes stretched in all directions, and they have holes in them that lead across dimensions.  Parts of me can freely travel through these holes until I am so tangled up in the whole thing I can't seem to pull myself back into any one place.  It is not unpleasant - just weird.  I try willing myself back to a more compact form, but that doesn't seem to mean much here.

Vegetable Stew

I am in somebody's kitchen.  They are preparing a huge cauldron of vegetable stew.  It looks and smells amazing, but the vegetables are HUGE - whole potatoes, carrots, halved rutabaga, and many other things I don't quite recognize.  I'm invited to taste it, but even a "taste" will probably be as much as I would eat at a meal.  I pick a short, fat carrot that has been halved lengthwise.  It is delicious, but very filling.

Quote from: Moonbeam on January 15, 2011, 05:55:45 PMWas it a good insomnia or a bad one?  I have different types; sometimes I don't mind at all, I'm anticipating getting lucid, and I feel very calm and almost high; but other times it's jittery and I feel twitchy and my mind keeps thinking about stuff other than dreaming.

It wasn't associated with anxiety, but it was frustrating.  After an hour I sat up and poked around online for a bit before laying down again.

Once I really started focusing intently on the HI, I fell back to sleep.  I think that's a useful thing to remember.

(Just screwed up and lost the whole post, and no time to reload it now.  Seven dreams, one lucid, but not so great notes.  Recording the one lucid right now and will try to revisit the rest later.  I was prepped for CWILD, but fell prey to the lure of a cappuccino after dinner last night, so took G at WBTB.)

Flying By The Dalian Sea

I am on a beach.  It is a beautiful day with blue sky, warm sun, gentle breeze and soothing waves.  There is a little island off in the distance with a bizarre dead tree on it, and the whole thing looks very much like a Dali painting.  I do a nose RC and find I am indeed dreaming.

I rise a bit into the sky and fly over to the island.  The entire landscape is continually changing, getting more and more surreal as I continue.  I circle the island, which has slender-legged elephants marching around the dead tree now, trunk to tail.  The beach is now covered by a scene from the bank of the River Styx, complete with every form of debauchery and every vice imaginable.  I stay a good distance and fly parallel to it.

I see sailboats in the distance, so I fly over to them.  They are small day sailing type vessels, but as I approach they morph into weird little speedboats that look more like futuristic bumper cars.  The whole dreamscape is losing definition now.

EDIT (Back to fill in more.  I remembered part of another lucid, so will record that and the headlines of the non-lucids.  I'll be back several times today trying to flesh this out.  I have a lot to do today, but will have ample time for breaks as well.  Several of the dreams I took notes on I now have zero recall of, but I remembered them quite well at the time and thought that brief notes would bring them back.  Not so.)

No Lock On The Garage

It is time for me to go to work.  I walk out to the garage and take my key out, but there is neither lock nor hasp on the garage door!  This is very odd.  Has somebody torn off the lock and robbed us?  No - there aren't even holes where the hasp was.  This isn't right. I RC, and it is a dream.

I want to find moonbeam, so I pass through the closed door with the intent of going into her dreamspace. . . (and I remember nothing else.)

Basketball On Dirt

I am playing basketball on a very dusty dirt court.  It is not sand - it is soil, but very dry.  The dirt sticks to the ball and rises in clouds as the ball is dribbled.  We are filthy, but having fun.

Japanese Video Cameras

I am in Japan with my daughter and several others.  We are in a street market, looking at small high quality video cameras.  I purchase a little black Sony camera, and then my daughter shows up with a gray one of the same model.  For what we paid for them, I don't mind too much.

We get back to our room and I show the camera to D., who is there too.  There are four different places to put SD cards in this camera, but I can only find three.  He shows me a very compact but powerful camera flash he has purchased.

Fun With My Wife

My wife and I are at some sort of gathering.  There is a young couple nearby making out quite openly.  It is inappropriate for the situation, so she and I decide to do likewise.  We kiss long and deep and enjoy it more than intended, but it has the desired result.  Others around us find the "old couple" to be just too weird and start commenting loudly about both the other couple and us, and the other couple settles down.

Brake Problems

Uncle S's New House

My (looong deceased) uncle S. and his family have moved into a new house.  It is at the edge of a new subdivision constructed on a clear cut area.  I approach the house on foot and have to cross a long mound of dirt left from when they leveled the area.  It is a big ranch home, with enough room for all the kids.  I wonder what he will do with such a big house once they all move out.

Amish Wedding

I am attending a large Amish wedding.  This is quite a bit different from the Amish funeral that was a week of my life recently.  It is a joyous affair, though still long, boring, mostly in languages I don't understand, and did I mention long?  I'm sitting near the front of the packed house.  My row is invited out to partake in Communion, which involves going to another room.  Elderly women are preparing the communion wafers and wine - which I realize is real wine.  How ironic that I am going to have to refuse half of Amish communion because of alcohol!

Just before I get to the front of the line, I realize that I am in the wrong line.  My line was for food, not communion.  I ask if I can get back in the other line, but am told it is too late.

I go back out, kind of sad that I blew it with the communion thing.  Those who have eaten and had communion are being shown out now.  I need to leave, even though I've neither eaten nor had communion.  A young child locks eyes with me and says something very profound and deep about life's tests and trials, and then says, "You have had your share these past ten years, haven't you?"  I nod, and begin weeping as I walk out.

All of the losses, suffering and sadness wash over me like a great river that I can no longer stand against.  I let it take me and surrender to the sobs racking my entire being.  There is something warm and comforting about succumbing to it.

Touch Football

I have been inducted into a game of indoor touch football.  I'm embarrassed by having to ask to have the rules explained to me, as I know (and care) so very little about football.

The game is played on a smooth wood floor with slippery rugs.  I don't get it.

Hernia

I am in a hospital ward for some reason.  Both of my parents are here.  A doctor comes by to tell me about the surgery I am going in for.  I decide to have him look at my belly button hernia to see if it can't be fixed at the same time, since I'm going under anyway.

Frog DILD

I am walking down an old hallway with my sister M.  We encounter a very strange frog.  As we watch it, it changes form.  I realize this is a dream and play with the frog for a long while.  When I blow on it, the frog changes appearance.  Sometime it is cute and other times it is frightening - like a little golem or horned demon.

On Campus

I am on an old, spread out campus in a wooded area.  It is time for class, but the professor is involved in a deep conversation with somebody.  They are standing on a flat bed trailer just outside of the classroom building.  I decide not to wait any longer, so follow the path out to the parking lot.  My car isn't where I left it, but the truck is, so I figure my wife needed my car for some reason.  I drive far up into the mountains with the truck, which isn't running right, until I get lost.

PJ, if you're having trouble with dream recall, take a look at this gem of a post on Dreamviews:

http://www.dreamviews.com/f15/ive-discovered-something-has-dramatically-improved-my-dream-recall-72724/

I was very sceptical at first, but it really does work.

The trick is to go to sleep wearing a sleep mask. Specifically, one that puts pressure on your eyelids and doesn't let you open your eyes upon waking. There's something about blocking out light and keeping your eyes closed when you wake that significantly boosts dream recall.

I use this six dollar mask:

http://www.vitacost.com/earth-therapeutics-dream-zone-sleep-mask

If you do decide to use the method, make sure it's a mask that doesn't let you open your eyes easily. It's opening your eyes when you wake that seems to scatter dream memories.

I too had trouble sleeping with a mask on at first, but after a few nights I grew quite accustomed to it. Getting through that first couple of nights is highly worth it! Not only has it greatly boosted my recall, I tend to sleep much better, Hope you give it another try.

I am rational.  I don't believe in anything without proof.  I am perfectly fine with accepting the things I dream about are just my imagination.

one night I woke up.  I was starving to death, for no reason.  it was the middle of summer, but I shook uncontrollably.  it was cold.  I was perfectly sober.

I heard someone call my name.  It sounded like my dead father.  I looked down the hall and there was a black human shape.  it was smaller and fatter than a human should be.

it was darker than any color should be.   the whole outline of its body made it seem black.  but it was really made of many changing colors that I have no words for.

it had two empty eyes.  by empty, I mean what will draw one to nothing.  it was gone.

then I heard voices, as if on a radio.  I searched all over the house, and found them coming from the refrigerator.  I put my ear to it.  I got good reception.  I heard many things.

I walked back to my bed, pleased with the dream.

when I woke up, I found I had done too much to prove it wasn't.

so I must be insane.

and the things I see in the above picture are real for me.  there are many of them.

sleep well.

by the way, the image sort of looks funny.  the thing on top is its nose.  it's above its eyes.

I've seen so many of these things, mostly in the very brief moment between waking and sleeping.  I've had lucids that lasted years in ten minutes in that time.  The world is very close to reality then, but it seems a bit "under" and things are more really physical.  All of what I see seems unhappy and not really evil.  They seem stuck.  I am not scared of them, but they are relentless in their teasing.  But they seem resigned that it is of no effect.

Only one time did it turn bad.  I had come out of my body and spun around and around the room, hitting my head against the wall.  When I finally left the window and crawled like a lizard against the gravity, I found a conspicuous wizard glorifying himself under the tree.

It was among the very few times I sincerely fought for my life in a dream.  I ended up dragging him inside, opening a hole in the floor, and throwing him into it.  It was among the very few times I killed someone.

Since then it's all been predictable fun and games, for me and these dark creatures.  They are there whenever I sleep at the right time.  The world then is so close to ours.  I think they only want to come fully into it.

All dreams, as always.  While awake I think nothing is real.  Asleep, all is.

Thank you for sharing mu! How I can relate with your words... That night, the translucent figure standing in the corner... then one day I ruined it

i am riding down a steep hill on a trike of sorts but when it gets too fast i cant turn and i end up just sliding on my side. i come to a grassy area where i see both of my friends called will, and a bunch of the other guys from that group wearing jumpers. for whatever reason (can't remember) i start pulling the fabric on their shoulders. One of them asks "what are you doing?" i dont know. after i continue down the hill and someone is running after me. i try to turn but end up bouncing of a tree out of control, i lose track and the scene changes.

we are on a bridge now and i ask someone what they would do if the bridge started collapsing, they answer…"just jump over the side, or take the top route" i notice how the bridge has another branch going up. i then think i find myself on some rocks off the side of the bridge and i work my way around and see that the city is now post apocalyptic. i find two people, they appear to be normal but they are brain dead almost. when they experience pain they lose interest in everything for a moment. i am skirting the edge of a river when i come across a very generic looking shotgun so i pick it up and continue. i have worked my way back to the rocks and those two people are there and they come after me. i stand on the rocks and hit one of them with the gun as they come and the other grabs it before i can pull back, so i hit him with the butt of the gun. he lets go and i realise i will have to shoot them but they barely notice when i do, but finally i escape.

it is night and i see these groups of alien things who seem to have taken control of these brain dead people and i am watching over a wall as one of their little "hive" things comes into view, giving off an orange glow so i duck behind the wall lower. i look down behind me and i think i see something in the bushes but it is nothing and two other people walk up, i jump over the wall and run to hide.

another small piece i remember is sneaking around at night behind one of the people when he begins to turn around so i think that laying down in some grass 2 meters away will hide me. of course he sees me.

i forgot the rest upon waking.
