Peter, I laughed out loud at what you wrote.
Myles, you're very welcome to the hug; I'm glad it countered that SINKing feeling!
Michel, considering the frequency with which we matched dreams, you & I see eye-to-eye and neither can seem odder, and if the other, outer world doesn't see our way, they oughter.
Anyone have any experience with / opinions about Robert Moss, self-billed shaman and author of Dreamgates, Conscious Dreaming, etc.? There's a chance I'll be in the Bay Area in a couple of weeks when he's giving a $10 evening workshop (April 12) & a $99 all-day workshop (13th)- followed by a week at Big Sur which must cost a fortune 'cause they don't list a price. I'm considering investing $10 in scoping him out. If I go, anyone want to join me? Have a mini-reunion of the northern California contingent? Maybe go out to eat and then descend en masse upon the shaman?
Peter, I laughed out loud at what you wrote.
Idealistic dreaming,
Joy
Joy,
Well, I guess you're not a dream character, tonight! ;)
Peter
Jay, I'm glad to hear about your hawk flying experience. Isn't it so fun? You get a really different view...
Joy, I think my daughter has a concert the night of the 12th, but please let us know how the workshop goes if you attend and who from Kalani was able to meet you there.
This morning's lucid dream, "The Unexpected Answer:" I am in a group of people and Naomi is speaking. I cannot quite hear what she is saying; it is as if she is speaking through water and the sound is all garbled. Then music and other noises distract me, and I am upset because I can't hear what Naomi's trying to say. I think, this must be a dream, and so I sit up in bed, except that my bedroom is different; instead of my one king-size bed, it has three single beds (similar to my Kalani room). My daughter Athena is in the bed next to me and my other daughter Emily is in the far bed. Suddenly Athena jumps out of bed in full belly dancing costume and starts dancing at the foot of my bed, laughing in this shrill, high-pitched (kinda scary) laugh. I think to myself, I've heard Thenes laugh a million times and this is NOT how she laughs. This must be a dream. That did it, and now I'm lucid. At the moment of lucidity, the entire dream flashed bright white like a million flashbulbs going off, and then it settled down to the brilliant clarity I usually get in LDs. I fly up off the bed and go straight through the ceiling outside into the night sky. There are billions of beautiful stars and the moon is very full and peeking in and out of passing clouds. I think to myself, The universe is so very beautiful, I am blessed to be able to see this. As I fly around, the thought comes to me that I should ask a question, a la Keelin. So I say out loud, "May I please know the meaning of the Universe?" I get the very distinct answer in my head, "No you may not; at this time you are only allowed to enjoy it!" Well as Myles might say, Party On, so I decide to Enjoy It and I fly through the sky looking at things until the light comes up full and I can see the countryside below. I pass by a beautiful Mediterranean-looking village with white houses and red roofs nestled into a cove by the ocean. I fly over a gorgeous expanse of green terraced lawns with magnificent trees and flowers. Every detail of every blade of grass is astoundingly clear. I decide I want to run on that grass, so I drop out of the sky and hit the earth at a full run, just experiencing the joy of being able to run so fast and so far without tiring. Then some really pretty rose bushes come up in front of me and I decide to jump over them. Each jump takes me about 12 feet into the air, so it's really fun doing this. I decide I'm doing of good job of taking The Voice's advice and just really enjoying myself. I come upon a large mansion-like building and decide to see if anyone is there. I walk over to a patio area and see a man and woman sitting at a small table preparing to have breakfast. The cereal in the bowl, the milk on the table, the flower in the vase, everything is so clear. I can see, however, that the man is upset with the woman, and she's trying to ignore him. I decide that this isn't part of Enjoying the Universe, and so I leave. As I'm leaving though, this little nagging voice in the back of my mind is saying, Stephen would tell you to go back and talk to them and incorporate them into yourself. I am pretty successful at ignoring the little voice. I look at the building and think, this is quite castle like. Immediately the structure turns into a full-blown fairy-tale castle, complete with crenellated ramparts, towers and drawbridge. I find an open portal and enter a living room where there are people watching a television. One person starts doing these impossible contortions (I had watched a Cirque du Soleil video last night, so I'm sure that's day residue), and then the dream slowly fades and I awaken.
The dream seemed very long, and I was pleased I was able to retain the lucidity for such a long time. Other than getting some good flying time in, though, it didn't seem like I accomplished a lot. Next time I'll have to set a more firm intention before bed I think.
Joy,
If your visit to the Bay Area includes some extra time, I'd love to see you! I'm in Napa which is about one hour's drive from either the North end of the Golden Gate bridge or the East end of the Oakland Bay bridge, but could possible meet you in San Francisco. If your plans allow, please let me know.
I'm sure we could find somewhere that serves up a dream-stuffed papaya for lunch. ;)
Aloha, Keelin
Hi Everyone
Sorry about my long absence from the group. Unfortunately, life has been throwing me some fairly large "challenges" of late. I have been reading your posts though and it's been nice to "hear" your voices if only in my head.
I had a dream "problem" similar to sMiles' dream arguement the other night. I was trying to call someone on my cell phone and after three attempts at dialing and not being able to key the number in properly (I am incapable of hitting the right buttons in my sleep) I thought "Well, that's three tries. Better do a reality check." I looked at my watch - analogue - should have been my first clue. I usually wear a digital sports watch and even the nice analogue watch I have doesn't have a second hand. My dream watch did.
I watched the second hand for about 20 seconds, took note of the lovely swirling patterns between the lines marking off the five minute segments on the face and concluded that I wasn't dreaming. After all the second hand hand dutifully maintained it's route around the dial.
Then I went back to my cell phone and dialed the number perfectly. Figures.
Drat!! So close.
Andrea
Joy, I checked out Robert Moss's Conscious Dreaming from the library last year and read part of it. It didn't impress me very much, but then I'm a self-proclaimed skeptic and tend to dismiss self-proclaimed shamans, and tend to go with those who either have scientific proofs, like Stephen, or have stood the test of time, like the Tibetans, so I'll pass on the workshop. But I'd love to meet you and any other dreamers if the logistics can be arranged. My place in Berkeley is available if that's convenient.
Andrea, I had a dream a few nights ago where I was trying to dial a phone number which a friend was telling me, but couldn't keep it in my head, so tried writing it down, but the pencil tip was broken. But then I got through after dialing only 3 numbers. This was because "it was a real small town and so the operator needed to know only 3 numbers to figure out whose phone it was."
To the creative dream logic, Naomi
PS June, the above is what I was trying to say in your dream.
Naomi:
That's kind of funny because I once lived in a small town where you only needed to dial 4 numbers to call somebody.
Andrea
Andréa,
I grew up in a village where my phone number was 4630! ;) But we were lucky, some people shared lines with neighbors.
June, great dream - maybe enjoying it IS the meaning....
Telephone lines first reached my town of 7 in the early 1980s, and for years 5 digits sufficed for local calls. We still have rather feeble service and this makes weird phone problems a less-than-reliable dream sign! As for internet access, I think at some point everything any of you tries to send me is translated into smoke signals and drumming on hollow logs and then back into a digital format which reaches me at the speed of a slow runner. With the help of my son who muttered in disgust at the primitive conditions of his natal land throughout the process of applying various technological tricks to hasten the rising of the smoke, I was finally able to view the film clips Michel and Shelley sent and was very impressed by the poetic imagery despite my son watching over my shoulder and wondering aloud why I would have wanted to spend hours downloading THIS.
A dream phone call was useful to me in achieving lucidity one night a couple weeks ago: the caller phoned to tell me I was dreaming.
And night before last one of my colleagues at work called from the office to say, "Hey, Joy, some of us here have figured out a way to stay in a lucid dream longer. We just think about how much we love you!" Believe me, this was VERY incongruous. As I was getting him to repeat this to make sure I'd understood him correctly, I noticed that the fish were swimming around outside the aquarium again - there they were in front of the window, gracefully gliding back and forth, all iridescent and rainbow-colored. I said, "Hey, excuse me but I think there's a good chance that I'm dreaming right now, because the fish are out. I'll talk to you later, okay?"
It happens at least once a year and always before I've just thought, "Huh - fish are out again." This time I remembered having resolved to recognize it as a dream sign so after hanging up I gazed at the fish incredulously, considering how real and solid everything seemed, and finally tried rising up off the floor and was surprised and amused to be able to do so! That's how many dream signs it took to convince me! A nice lucid dream ensued and I was really pleased with myself for having finally cued in to the fish-out-of-water after all these years.
Love to my dream-colleagues,
Joy
Joy,
I noticed that the fish were swimming around outside the aquarium again
Incredible imagery! I'll try to see fish coming up from a pond, or large lobsters hovering just above the water. Could be used to convey the density of population for a species in a video for some park service! hehhehehe. Thanks Joy.
Anyone familiar with the Leonard Cohen song :In my secret life
Short bursts of info. Found great audio for the video of green screen footage -that outside hot sun shoot- (the day many people honored me with giving me access to there image). I just found a way to integrate the audio of our Dreams are... recording into a visual (I thank everybody on that one! The audio is just great, so dreamy... purrrrtastic even!)
Hand burned video DVD or slow baked VHS of this 4 minute clip can be sent if there are any requests I will add a few hours of Kalani highlights. I can mail anybody a 74 minute cd filled with just the sound of the waves crashing on the shore of Kalani! ;) I can also send anyone an audio recording of the rainstorm Kalani had 3 days before the regular sessions started. It was recorded from the wide open Tree House in Kalani.
Thea,
I recorded that Pepe Lepew cartoon I had mentionned. It's great purrrrrtastic material. He's a stinky romantic skunk that falls in love with a cat. What is the best way to send you an audio file? I can, in a few days, just ask you to clik on a link to hear instant audio. In fact, I think we can pull this off if I connect directly to you using our Windows XP systems. We could also voice chat using this method.
I fear that if I can start posting here from my dreams that I'll never shut up.
I'm using a very slow computer and a very slow connection to test video streaming.
This is a video clip that I can enjoy with ok audio of Leonard Cohen talking about the song In My Secret Life.
If you can see it raise your hand ;)

Just testing... <IMG SRC="http://www.eaglestation.com/misc/otter.gif" ALT="Otter" WIDTH=100 HEIGHT=100 ALIGN=bottom>
Hi Michel. I'm only raising one finger, not the whole hand. My Windows XP media player popped up when I clicked on your link and started "tuning in," however, I could only hear the audio and the video screen was black. Maybe my system is too old. Perhaps where I live we only use smoke signals, logs and conch shells, like Joy. Or maybe I need to do a reality check...
Hey Joy, I loved your interpretation that enjoying IS the meaning. I think you may be right! I was fascinated to find that one of your lucidity triggers was fish swimming out of water, because that has been one of mine for a long time. In fact, I recall writing about that with one of the lucid dreams I included in the Tibeta Yoga nasal laterality experiment I sent in to the Lucidity Institute. As I was working out on the treadmill in the cardio room of the gym, these fish just swam right through the walls of their aquarium and lazily swam/floated through the air to start circling my head as I was treading. Trippy! I've never seen birds underwater, but I've seen lots of fish in mid-air.
Naomi, thanks for telling me what you were trying to say in my dream. Next time when I can't understand you, I'm going to use that to generate lucidity, instead of a false awakening.
June, previously I had thought that a world where I was understood existed only in my dreams, and now to hear that you're basing your own reality on understanding me makes me wonder if I'm dreaming ;) Actually, I think we'd all better do a reality check after that last sentence.
Andrea, Michel, and Joy: I guess I tapped into the collective unconscious dream phonebook. If only I hadn't used it to outsmart my dreamsign!
Another fish out of water, Naomi
Hi Michel,
Alas, nothing at all when I try the link. But you've inspired me to play (and sing along with) the "Commander Cohen" album while I work today... ;) Where or where is that voice I had in my last lucid dream?
;-o, Keelin
Aloha Dreamers,
Below, a (not-recent) lucid dream to add to Joy's & June's fresh catch (and Ralf, am I recalling correctly that you also have fish-out-of-water dreams?):
After waking, I lie very still and slip into enjoyable hypnagogic images of water and sky. Some cartoonish boats and French words appear, then I become aware of the vivid sensation of my dreambody rocking side to side. This familiar feeling is immensely pleasurable and I know that if I can just prolong the sensation, I'll move into a good, stable lucid dream.
Suddenly, brilliant, tropical fish are swimming above the bed. How delightful! I reach out to touch them, but they easily avoid contact, as naturally as if they were in their usual, watery world. While holding out my hand, I notice that I can see through it when the palm is facing me. Experimenting further with the illusion, I find that the back of my hand, initially opaque, also becomes transparent.
Now through the palm side, I see a different "underwater" scene: a miniature scene which enlarges as I move my hand towards me. I call out for dolphins and see a few tiny ones swimming within the new image within my palm. Hoping to enter the scene, I bring my hand closer to my eyes and am almost successful at merging, but catch different imagery at the periphery and lose my focus. I move my hand further away and watch the little scene retreat as expected.
While thus engaged, I have also been singing, and at one point, notice I'm not in sync with the orchestral accompaniment. I find this amusing since it's all coming from within...
ENFPisces, Keelin
Thanks for testing June and Keelin! I'll work up another test.
Naomi, I was working on your green screen video today. I'm dreaming up somekind of Indu multiarmed Goddess effect to complement your gentle sway.
Joy
I am up for the Robert Moss event. The location is about 10 miles from my house, and your welcome to stay in our guest room if you like. We might find him a self proclaimed "wacko', but it would be a great excuse to get together. Maybe a Saturday afternoon get-back together after the event. We should make it a cool place to gather like Crispy Fields (Under the Golden Gate Bridge), or the like. Tilden Park might be another Dreamy locale to chat about our "forth" dimensions.
( : smyles : )
Keelin, I wonder why so many people seem to have the air-fish dream. I am almost through with Elaine Morgan's Scars of Evolution and will soon begin her Aquatic Ape Theory. Perhaps we dream about water and fish so often because these are very old, familiar dreams?
I was thinking last night about a technique I use to induce lucid dreams that I thought I would share with you beautiful dreamers. I didn't hear it mentioned at Kalani, but if it's something that's been discussed before on this forum, forgive me if I repeat. I call it the Dream Frame. I use it to put me in the right Frame of Mind to have a lucid dream whenever I want. It involves finding or making yourself a little picture frame and decorating it with something that is special to you, preferrably a spirit dream guide. I have a lovely pewter frame with dolphins all around the border, as Dolphin is my personal totem (along with Raven). But you can make one by getting a simple wooden frame and gluing things around the edges. For example, I can envision Leslie finding some pretty mermaids, Robert some giraffes, Jay, the God of the Grape Harvest, and so on. It has to be something that is special to you, something you can use to guide you to the dream world. On the night you want to have a lucid dream, place a picture of what you want to dream about in the frame (a flying bird, your grandfather, a castle, and so on). You can use photographs, pictures from magazines, images printed off the internet, etc. Then you need to take a few quiet moments before bedtime, hold your Dream Frame in your hands, clear your mind, concentrate on the image, and form the intention that you will have a lucid dream about it tonight. For Thea, I would envision having her make a box, cover the edges in fur or some other fluffy/tactile material, put things inside of it, and just feel them before going to sleep. So if she wanted to dream about meeting the twins on the beach, she could put a handful of sand in the box; or if she wanted to meet the Keeper, perhaps a small piece of gold lame' (I suppose the color doesn't matter, does it?) like the robes worn by the Talosians. Whatever you choose to dream about should be placed in the Dream Frame (or Dream Box) and then when you find that item in your dream, you will become lucid. Put the frame by your bed and if you wake up during the night, look over at it (or touch it) and remind yourself again that you will become lucid when you find that image in your dream. It works like a charm for me. I hope some of you will try it and let me know if it works for you...
Love & Light, June
Thanks for the frame idea, June, I'll try it. It makes sense that dream fish can live in the air, since some of you report being abe to get your oxygen needs met in the water. I'll keep my eyes peeled for flying fish in my dreams from now on. So far my dream fish just keep swallowing each other until someone pulls the plug or hauls the pond away. I had another somewhat frustrating foray into lucidiy last night:
I am in the bathroom getting dressed. I see that my son had moved the toilet against the wall (in waking life he had moved a computer). There is poop in the toilet so I flush it, then realize that's impossible because the pipes are fixed in the floor and couldn't have been moved, so I must be dreaming. I start floating up in the air, past the mirror, where I see my reflection, naked from the waist up and looking very old and wrinkled, my breasts sagging. I note the strangeness of this and continue up, intending to go through the ceiling and fly into the night sky. I see patterns swirling on the wall, but when I'm almost at the ceiling I become stuck, unable to rise futher. To help things along I decide to rub my hands together and to say, "I CAN fly up through the ceiling!" but as soon as I say "I can...", I realize it's my waking voice saying it, and I can feel my waking body lying on my stomach in bed, and since my hands are apart, rubbing the fingers of my left hand against each other. I have no doubt this is my waking body, since I confirmed this with a reality test last time this happened. I decide to turn onto my side, which will hopefully be a better position for maintaining sleep and my lucid dream. I turn while trying to maintain the bathroom scene. On my side, I manage to keep seeing the patterns on the wall, but the scene fades quickly and I fall into a dreamless sleep.
Another fish trying to evolve, Naomi
Good luck with your evolution, Naomi Fish. Hehehe. I've had frustrations like that. Very low level lucidity that doesn't last long enough to do anything with. Say, June, that's a neat idea you had about the dream frame, and thanks for translating it for me. That was thoughtful. I think if I wanted to dream about the twins, I would like to find a matched pair of something like shoes or earrings or something. I could put them in a box, surrounded by a flower lei or something Hawaiian. Happy Easter, folks.
June:
A dream frame? That is a sublimely helpful idea. Indeed, it is a most excellent tool to help us do Stephen's MILD technique, because images, be they seen, felt, or heard, can do much more to sharpen focus than can the words we must choose to describe them. Why am I not surprised that it was offered by you?
Bravo!
Peter
Dear June!
Thank you for sharing your Dream Frame induction technique. A lovely little reminder now lies beneath my pillow where I can touch it as I drift off -- the Dream Sea at my fingertips... ;)
Would you mind re-posting your excellent idea to the Open Conversations topic for our other Forum friends who might not be reading the messages in the Kalani folder?
Mega Mahalo, Keelin
Ahhh-loha to you, Keelin. Thank you for your kind words about the Dream Frame technique. I will be happy to post it to the other folder.
Have to share a little story that made me smile this morning. Some of the Kalani dreamers and I are working our way through Stephen's course workbook together. We're on the first exercise where we write down our dreams or fragments thereof every time we awaken during the night and record the time and fill in a chart. This morning about 2:00 am, I woke up and wrote down this marvelous dream I'd just had, filling in the chart and giving lots of detail. I awakened again about 3:50, and as I went to write down my next dream, I noticed that the page for that night was completely blank! Apparently I had dreamed waking up and writing in my journal...or maybe the second awakening was the dream and my dream journal was really full, but just looked empty in the dream....or maybe....there is no spoon. hahahaaa! Have to laugh at how the mind works.
Hi All, I was in Mauii at another Lucidity dreamconference May 2000, I read the last part od your conversations. i have been to robert Moss's workshops at ASD Association for the Study of dreams in different towns in the States. He is good in reliving your dream during a dreamjourney with the Shamanic drums. It has been a good experience and find out what it will bring you. Quite another experience than with Stephen but why not, different experiences on another level. ASD Conference will be in Boston in June.(the 15th to the 19th with a dreamball at the last evening. Hermine The Netherlands
Speaking about our tricky dream mind! The following happened to me after reading Buddhism with an Attitude in bed. I'd gotten to the part about seeing reality as a dream before I fell asleep. I'm with some buddhist practitioners in a bedroom. One of them, a woman, is standing next to the bed, giving a demonstration of an advanced technique for transcending one's body. Her body starts to become transparent, fading more and more until she is barely visible. I think to myself, "Wow, this buddhist stuff is really true. Reality IS just like a dream."
In a later dream I got a visit from June, in some temporary house I was preparing to move out of the next morning. I was going to make some tea for June and me, asking "What kind do you like?", when some of the landlord's relatives came in to inspect the the place. I was annoyed because I was supposed to have until the morning to get the place cleaned up.
My dear Naomi, thank goodness you are just like me : Tea definitely comes before cleaning!
June, Naomi-
Tell me about it! Last night I had a dream where I was having an argument in someone's kitchen with Lisa, my wife, for about fifteen minutes about what one does to maintain a lucid dream. I don't remember our specific points, only that the word "lucid" was used about fifty times, and throughout the argument we were surrounded by my fellow Kalani oneironauts (specifically you two -- odd coincidence! -- and Joy)who nodded in agreement or added comments where appropriate.
So let's see... lucidity repeated, oneironauts, someone else's kitchen. Did I become lucid? Well of course not! When the dream signs are posted in bright five-foot neon they can be most easily missed!
Peter
Peter, and all
Nice story about the case of the missing lucidity. Along the same lines'I came across an aggressive dog in my dream the other night, and so I did the obvious thing anyone would do. I stuck my whole hand in his mouth. It was the most vividly slob eristic feeling you can imagine, uh err, well I guess it would be I could imagine. Didn't become lucid, because it wasn't enough of a dream sign. I mean, you know that happens like once a week for me'NOT! I think it was a result of June's description of the dream frame, but of the tactile version. What better than a wet, slobbery, dream box to get those dream gears churning. Great idea June!
On another note I started a 9 week class of Stephen's here in the Bay Area, and it has reminded me what a great time I had with all of you, and how much I miss spending my day's chatting about our gray matters.
Happy Trails
( : smyles : )
Okay, Peter, June and Naomi, since I was in on that conversation I'd better log in with last night's high-density workings of the dreaming mind! I overheard my son in his little-boy voice saying he wished he had a certain doll. This didn't seem too incongruous because my young nephew likes dolls, and I was really pleased because now I knew what to get my son for his birthday. Then I slowly began to have a little trouble with this thought, because I couldn't picture him bringing a doll to his room at college.
Besides... (I thought some more...) he never did like dolls....
So I went and found him (full-grown) and asked, "Did you say you wanted a doll, or did I just dream you said that?"
He said, "Why would I say something stupid like that?"
I went away and thought for a while and after a protracted period of intense cogitation I realized that 1) I must have dreamed it, 2) there was no break in continuity between dreaming that and now, and therefore 3) I must be dreaming!
So I got there, but it was like swimming through mud. And I had to give up my attachment to the idea that I really knew what to get my son for his birthday, sigh....
Hey, what is it about kitchens, anyway? "Someone's kitchen" seems to be the setting for a greater-than-random percentage of my dreams!
Greater SF Bay Area oneironauts, I like Myle's ideas & wonder if anyone who wasn't up for Moss's talk would want to convene Saturday for a picnic. Somewhere like Tilden Park might be conveniently central in the Mendocino-to-San Jose spread.
I was still thinking of this whole expedition across the mountains as a maybe, but meanwhile my mom asked me if I could drive her to a dr. appt. on the 11th in San Rafael (she lives sort of between here and there) and in her mind it has translated from "maybe" to "What time shall I expect you?" (What is it about moms, anyway?)
Oneironauts of elsewhere, maybe someday we can all reconvene.... book Kalani for a week or two... or Tahiti... or Mars... well, we can dream, can't we?
Joy
Myles was posting at the same time as I, so now that I've seen his most recent, I should clarify that I like his ideas about getting together on Friday/Saturday, not about sticking one's hand in a dog mouth.
Joy & all bay area dream people
Woof'Woof?
Regarding the "get together', another cool place might be the Exploratorium in San Francisco. http://www.exploratorium.edu They have a bunch of cool scientific exhibits to play with, and a Charles & Ray Eames exhibit called mathmatica. After we could all walk over to Crissy Fields and picnic watching the fog roll in through the Golden Gate.
( : smyles: )
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to tell you about my dream shopping experience last night. I was at a mall (with Leslie - Hi Leslie!) and I stopped at a Kiosk that sold chocolate. I wanted to buy chocolate but all the cheap chocolate was gone. There was only chocolate selling at $194/lb! I couldn't afford it.
Anyway, upon waking and lying there thinking of my dream I decided that I was never going to let that happen to me again! That's when I applied for (and got) my Platinum DreamVisa.
My Platinum DreamVisa is accepted anywhere in the universe. It has no expiry date, no spending limit, and does not require reimbursement. Now I will be able purchase dream goods anywhere anytime. Don't go to sleep without it!
Now maybe I can get some chocolate (and with any luck a clue!).
Andrea
P.S. My DreamVisa Number is: zzzz zzzz zzzz zzzz
Judging from the posts of the last few days, there's a lot cooking in Somebody's kitchen, a real feast!
Myles, that aggressive dog was in my dream last night. He kept snapping at me as I was trying to make a phone call, preventing me from dialing. I finally threw a book at him and completed the call.
The Exploratorium sounds interesting, as well as Tilden Park. You can gather in my kitchen in Berkeley, where I'll serve you all tea and chocolates.
Naomi
Weird work hours, some mornings out at 3 a.m. and some nights out until 3 a.m. - not sure if I'm asleep or awake just now - hope I write something coherent - read it twice and let me know if it changes!
I'm still curious about Moss's talk but the stronger motivation was getting together with you co-dreamers. Myles is the only one so far saying he's up for Moss on Friday, mainly as an excuse to get together, and also proposes a more northerly gathering on Saturday; June can't do Friday (and is way north); Naomi and Keelin both willing to come as far south as San Francisco; Joe up for either but suggests planning one gathering is better than two. So I'm thinking of going to hear Moss if I happen to feel like it on Friday evening but focusing on getting together with whomever on Saturday. I'll e-mail all who live more or less in the area and if any other Kalanians want to drop in from San Diego, New York, Georgia, Canada, England, Maui, Mars, etc., by all means contact me!
Joy
boo!
reboo!!
Michel, They're just not listening. You're going to have to boo really loud to get a charge out of this crowd. Remember that they're all a bunch of experienced oneironauts capable (even if they don't all yet believe it themselves) of fending off the nastiest of ehtereal boos.
Or, you can threaten them all with exposure to your higher consciousness. NOW!
Maybe that'll get these folks to turn their computers back on and go back to exploring their dreams together. Or, maybe not...
Well Peter, you are listening... one ear is better than none! ;)
Shelley and me had a chance to show Dr. Laberge some of our video last night. A great 3 minute sequence (cut by Shelley) will be added to this website shortly ;). (in fact, I can compress that puppy and upload it right now to my site... think I'll do that, you guys deserve the "preview"!)
The clip has all the normal aspects of a great little movie... stuff like nudity, frogs, flying people, wild eyed scientists in hotpools at full moon and much much more. (why to I feel like adding --- call now and you'll receive this beautifull potato peeler absolutly free!!!!!)
Ok, here is the link to the 3 minute clip:
http://www.lucid.tv/kalani/kalani_shelley_cut.mov (5.6 megs, chunky for a slow connection)
http://www.lucid.tv/kalani/kalani_shelley_cut_smaller.mov (2.8 megs, smaller video window, faster download)
http://www.lucid.tv/kalani/kalani_shelley_cut_smallest.mov (1 meg, smaller video window, lots of compression)
There is no audio on this version. Enjoy!
Michel/Shelley:
Well, at least I got to enjoy all those wonderful images, and even get a little choked up by the memories they evoke.
Hopefully someday the Kalani Dreamers will be back, and will also get a look at them.
Nice work, and I hope to see more of it soon!
Peter
Michel & Shelley:
Bravo!! The image of a dreamer floating past the full moon over dark, mysterious water is my favorite scene. Remarkable! You have certainly captured, exquisitely, one of the more wondrous feelings of flying...
Thank you for sharing. I, too, look forward to more.
Love, Keelin
Aloha, Kalani dreamers
Nice conversation here. I saw Shelley / Michel's film. Very dreamlike. The ending, too, when Netscape quit and I had to reboot the system. This was a RC in itself.(The system did, what I asked for...) Keelin, in answer to a posting last month: Yes, fish swimming in the air were a common dreamsign for me.
Wonderful flying dreams to all
Yours Ralf
Alohahaha! We have not all vanished but subsets are interacting off-forum - some lively correspondences and collaborations and I hear tell of dream study groups and mutual dream experiments - perhaps some others will report back here. A few of us managed to get together last weekend in the physical realm, San Francisco area - easier to meet in the astral realm if you ask me, but well worth the effort to find Myles, Katya, Joe and me co-dreaming in broad daylight. Wow! Alas, we missed Naomi but she says she'll save the tea and chocolates (but not the mangoes and papayas).
Robert Moss was pretty cool; definitely not science, but hey: in these matters science is always going to lag well behind direct experience, and I'm happy to help push science along but am not going to stay behind it all the time. To correct (slightly) my earlier presumption, I did not hear him declare himself a "shaman" - rather, a "shamanic practitioner." I recently learned that out here where I live, as recently as 100 years ago, the native culture had high expectations of their shamans; all were short-lived and none were self-declared, because they were supposed to heal people and if they lost three patients someone would come around to their campfire with a big sharp hatchet. So shamanic practition was an honor reluctantly accepted.
I look forward to viewing the latest film on a clear, windless day when the smoke signals will be detectable by my primitive internet connection.
Joy to all!
Woah, so I was working on a chemistry problem when I remembered one of my very many dreams last night. Dr. LaBerge was on Kenyon's campus, skipping around and grinning, then talking ever so formally with a cackle of professors. What is he doing here? I wondered. He grinned at me, said, "Hi Robert!" Hmmmm... Well, it's great to see him, as always. He walks away, down a green slope, and into the distance. I ponder his presence.... BUT NO REALITY CHECK. ARRR! I have had a number of lucid dreams since the trip, and they've all been groovy. Oh, as an aside, I couldn't download the films - the links didn't work :0( I'm impressed by how well everyone is keeping in touch. I'm busy, but... not THAT busy, so I'll be posting more stuff. You people inspire me. Love, Robert
Ps - I have a new picture of me. I'm on a bulldozer, at Kalani. Was it supposed to be an "eco" resort? Something about clearcutting doesn't seem to go well with ecology. Or maybe that's just me...
Oh wow, the movie worked. I provided my own audio. Here's my theory - it was all the dream of a frog! HAHAHA. Very well-done, elegant, exquisite even. Like a dream, the images stream along, dipping down into shadows, coming up into the light. My memories did about the same. Thankyou
Beautiful movie, thank you, Michelley Productions Inc.
I loved the movie, Shelley and Michel. A great combination of action and stills that brought back a flood of memories for me. On second review, I caught myself tapping my forehead during Stephen's outside lecture on the headlands (still looking forward to the T-shirt). Also loved Stephen's expressive hand gestures, in and out of water. You really captured that beautifully. Well done, you two!
Michelley Productions...
I like the sound of that. All you need is a logo (maybe something with frogs and the moon) and you're ready for the big time.
Cool!
Peter
