Something dawned on me the other day while I was thinking about my lucids. I have never looked down to see what my dream body was wearing!

This thread is for anyone to post accounts where they checked to see what they were wearing after becoming lucid, with or without using a mirror. I'm a simple man who wears simple clothes (I normally sport a plain white tee and blue jeans), so I would expect to be wearing something similar while lucid. But on the other hand, I also have two normal-sized hands with 5 fingers apiece, but this is not always the case while I'm lucid!

As for me, I'm gonna add this to my personal list of lucid tasks. It would be especially interesting to find myself wearing a shirt with some sort of slogan on it. If it's anything like the things that DCs tend to say, it should be pretty funny .

I very rarely check to see what I am wearing, although a few times in non-lucid dreams I've been aware that I was wearing nothing at all, with no one in my dream world including myself seeming to think that was unusual.

One time when I looked at my chest I had no shirt on, and seeing myself with no shirt on helped me to become lucid as my chest looked somewhat pale.

If anything, checking to see what they are wearing should help a person become more lucid.

Usually if I notice, it's because I'm not wearing anything.  Once I remember being in a bar and remembering a task I wanted to do, which was to get naked and see if anything else was messed up like my hands usually are, so I did that (all OK, strangely), and when I got dressed again I put on something nicer so I could go to a better place than the bar I was in.

I don't think I pay attention most of the time really.

I usually never pay attention, I assume I'm just always wearing what I am sleeping in, like pajamas or something. However, if my lucid dream changes and I find myself on a beach, I may also find myself suddenly wearing a bikini. I dunno though, I'll make a point to check out my clothes next time I'm lucid.

The only times I ever notice what I'm wearing in my dreams are the times in which I am wearing nothing, and then it a case of panic, and, inevitably, waking.

When I ever notice what I am wearing in a dream it is usualy something very simple, like plane old pants and a plane old shirt. No desinge for me or anything, but I dont really think cloths are really that important when lucid dreaming anyway, nobody will see them.

I love the idea of paying more attention.  Next time I will see what I am wearing, I can't remember ever really paying any attention to this before

I only ever notice a lack of clothing, like if I'm not wearing pants in public.

Sounds like it could be just as effective as looking at your hands.

I used to make it a point to see what I was wearing. Some of the time I was wearing clothes that I own in real life, like a long sleeved brown shirt that has shown up twice, or my long sleeved red shirt. Other times I'm wearing something that I don't own like a grey sweat shirt with grey sweat pants or pink flip flops.

Or occasionally it is something really weird like this (quoted from old dream journal):

I came to a very large reflective glass window. I looked at my reflection. I took note of what I was wearing. I had on a really strange outfit. I had on a whilte blouse and over that I had on a white tank top with a light grean camo tank top. I was also wearing a white, almost see through white skirt.

I thought it was really the ugliest outfit I could possibly be wearing. I decided what I really wanted to be wearing was a pink bikini. I tried to make myself instantly be wearing the bikini. I couldn't do it. But I knew if I took off my other clothes, that I would have the bikini on underneath.

So I think it is a fun exercise to note what we are wearing in dreams.

Although it seems like lately whenever I notice what I'm wearing, I want to take it off.....

Depends, lucid I always wear a white gown, strangely.

Regular dreaming, no idea. I will try to notice now.

Being a girl probably helps, but I check my clothes pretty often. Every once in a while I'm still wearing my pajamas but usually I'm wearing jeans and the tops I normally wear.

A few nights ago I had on an ankle length muted pink coat. I'm not normally one to go for pink but it was cute. Under that I had a pink dress on. I went to go shop for something not so pink...but there were vampires, and I had to kill them, and that sorta derailed the whole shopping thing.

The few times I've looked down at my clothes, I've usually used my ability to change them at will. Or if I'm only semi lucid I change the old-fashioned way.

I remember a lucid dream in which i happened to look into a mirror, and see something very unexpected. I was actually looking for someone, so i didn't pay much attention to this. But it was so weird that it did make me look twice.

In the dream: ...I see a door and open it, i walk in, its the men's room, there's no one there, i see myself in the mirror, wearing some sort of grandma pyjama's, strange, i look again, yes strange, but nevermind.

I never wear pyjama's IRL, and certainly not the kind i saw myself wearing in the mirror. It was baggy, purple with some sort of really old fashioned pattern on it. Good thing i'm not into dream interpretation, i'd probably be in for a hard time.

So I was lucid about an hour ago and I remembered to check my clothes. I was wearing blue jeans and a plain, dark gray t-shirt. While this doesn't seem too strange, judging from the way the shirt fit, it appeared to be on backwards. So... yeah

It would be worth it if you wore those all the time while you were dreaming, and they got you lucid. A little embarrassing to have to be dressed like that in all your lucids, yes, but still, it would come in handy!

It would be a great dreamsign 'what's this, why am i wearing this hideous thing, wait a minute, these are my ugly baggy purple grandma dreaming pyjama's, i must be dreaming'. But on the other hand, maybe my brain would just prevent me from getting lucid to spare me the embarrasment.

It might also explain why those DC's stare at me in a weird way.

You could always change into something more attractive after you get lucid.

huh, I've never thought to look at what I was wearing. When I'm dreaming of being at work, I assume I have my scrubs on. Otherwise, I dunno... The only time I really notice is when I'm not wearing anything, which isn't too often.

I also have that quite often in dreams, i'm totally naked in some situation, but it doesn't really seem to bother me at all.

Hmm, so should i realise i'm dreaming because of my embarrassing pyjama's, i can just take them off and feel quite comfortable naked.

I've thought about looking at my clothes before. I'll have to try it next time I'm lucid.

I don't usually notice what I'm wearing. When I do, it's often something simple like a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Other times, I often notice that I'm wearing my bathrobe.

The one time I did notice in a lucid, I just stood in front of the mirror and had fun simply changing the color of the clothes I had on.

There was that one time I looked in the mirror and realized that I was Moonbeam, though. Haha. That was fairly unexpected. I can't remember what I was wearing, though.

I can't remember what I was wearing, though. Mwuhaha, I remember Moonbeam in a non-lucid, she was wearing a hippie outfit (long colorful skirt).

Here's a quote from my DJ. The only time I really noticed the clothes I was wearing:

QuoteI said 'I want to wear a special dress' (huh!) So I turned around, said 'I want a black dress' and suddenly the opposite wall had transformed into a mirror, showing myself in a black dress! However, not a normal dress, but a rather kinky one. It was very long, but made of this fabric you can see through. There were embroideries around my private parts, but not enough to cover... I felt a bit ashamed and try to put my hands in front, but that didn't work.

Impressed by the power of changing clothes so easily, I tried again. I want a NORMAL dress, I said. Upon looking again, I was now wearing a pair of slim jeans and a sweater. And yeah, I do notice when I don't have clothes, but I'm glad it doesn't happen too often.

All this talking about clothes, might infect my brain and make me dream of clothes this night

I think it was the hair that you recognized, if I recall correctly.
