Hehe. I'm excited!!! I'm at a very stressful point in my life right now though, so I really hope that won't interfere too much.
I just had to drop by and say that this is the sexiest workbook so far. That cuddly cat makes me want to keep coming back.
Anyway, I hope all the stressful things turn out ok and that the tides calm down a bit. Other than that, I believe in you Mes... I think you're gonna do well on the workshop, just remember the first rule of lucid dreaming - stay positive.
Started....

Dreams: 17 Fragments: 7 Lucid Dreams: 3
Dream mean: 17/30 = 0.5667 Fragment mean: 7/30 = 0.2333 Lucid dream mean: 3/30 = 0.1
Hehe! Thanks Tyrant!! After encouragement like that, I guess success is imminent.
-- April 2008 Statistics (Since April 10th) --

Dream mean: 9/20 = 0.45 Fragment mean: 8/20 = 0.4 Lucid dream mean: 1/20 = 0.05
OK, end of May and we've been at this for 30 days now. I'd like for each of you to scan your journals, generate statistics for the entire month of May, and place them in your workbook.
Compare your April statistics against your May statistics and make an entry in your workbook showing any improvement.
If you would like to share you progress, please make a posting in this thread.
Dream mean: 49/30 = 1.63 up from 0.92 Fragment mean: 6/30 = 0.2 down from 0.52 Lucid dream mean: 1/30 = 0.03 down from 0.08
My dream recall is way up and my fragments are down. My lucidity rate is down, which is annoying!
I've identified two new and very reliable dream signs. Work and Germany. Seems I dream about one or both almost every single night!
I have not been able to identify what makes the recall go up and down other than "intention" led by "attention" and of course "willingness" Attention and willingness being the easiest to shift with the ego.
My true intention is like a cat. Hard at times to herd in the direction my ego would want it to go but strong willed and a true killing machine full of purposeful actions.
Often I am totally at a loss as to what my real intentions are until I see the results.
Is it really necessary to document all dreams ? Is it OK to just naturally have them and acknowledge that they are there?
The new challenge for me is to learn to OBE, until I master this I wont be doing anything else so is it really necessary to document other things in the mean time?
For 30 days in May (April in brackets)
1 - Recalled dreams = 58 (34) 2 - Recalled fragments = 33 (19) 3 - Lucid dreams = 2 (0)
Daily averages
1 - Recalled dreams = about 2.0 2 - Recalled fragments = 1.1 3 - Lucids = 0.066666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666
Notes
Dream recall nearly doubled both for whole dreams and for fragments. Trend about the same during 1-19 May as 20-30 May. Lucids have not been forthcoming. (Two in quick succession at the start of the month but neither of these were induced.) Could be coincidence? I think not. Likely to be the result of signing up to the workshop, although not anything to do with the actual exercises.
What helped
Realising that trying to recall dreams is futile most of the time. Letting them arise in consciousness is far more effective.
What failed
All attempts at inducing LDs. Poor attendance to RCs during waking hours.
Eh... results for me were pretty bad, but its mostly because I switched from having four hours of sleep per night to having a full eight for this workshop.
-- May 2008 Statistics --
Dreams: 84 Fragments: 24 Lucid Dreams: 10
Dream mean: 84/30 = 2.8 (April: 2.4666; May 20th: 2.8) Fragment mean: 24/30 = 0.8 (April: 0.5333; May 20th: 0.8) Lucid dream mean: 10/30 = 0.3 (April: 0.2333; May 20th: 0.3)
Thats kind of freaky... My mean values are identical to the May 20th values! I guess that means I haven't improved or declined in the 10 days since.
But from April I've definitely improved. Everything has increased, even Fragments. I see that as good since Dreams have also increased, so the new fragments aren't dreams that have lost clarity but rather dreams that I wouldn't have recalled at all back in April.
I'm stoked at the 10 lucids. Thats well and truly a record for me.

Exactly what I found, Hiros.

And one I can only dream about. Ha ha. My 2 lucids were a fluke. 10 in one month sounds good to me.

Intention led by attention is exactly what makes my dream recall go up. The more time I spend recording and analyzing my dreams, the more my subconscious seems to realize how important they are, and helps me in remembering them.

April: Dreams: 12/30 40% Fragments: 13/30 ~43% Lucid Dreams: 5/30 ~16%
May: Dreams: 30/30 100% (Up 60%!) Fragments: 20/30 ~66% (Up 23%) Lucids: 5/30 ~16% (Even)
Recall way up.
April: Statistics: Dream recall average: 21/30: 0.700 Dream fragment average: 13/30: 0.433 Lucid dream average: 3/30: 0.100

I've got no complaints here~ My recall went beyond the roof, my fragments barely increased, and my lucids went up too!
Thank you everyone that participated in our first ever “Back to Basics” workshop last month. I hope that each of you was helped in some small way. We have such an advanced group of lucid dreamers here in the Mist that I suspect it was just a review for most of you, hope you weren't disappointed or bored.
I've moved the entire workshop forum into it's final location here: http://mortalmist.com/forum/index.php/board,31.0.html and left your workbooks and a couple of threads unlocked.
If you get a chance, please respond to 󈫻 May final results” and help me to make the next workshop better by leaving some ideas in 󈭓 Session End”
Thank you again for participating and Happy Dreaming!

Quote from: Moonbeam on June 01, 2008, 01:35:03 PMIt was great, and I hope I can maintain this progress. I agree with Moonbeam. This was a great workshop, no matter what level a person may have come in at. In fact, it may have even been more beneficial for some of the advanced dreamers, since sometimes it takes a while to learn something, and this was an excellent review.
Good job Seeker.
I think this Worskhop was successful for a few pretty obvious reasons. There is of course returning to your roots and relearning them now that you have the perspective you have now (the advanced dreamers I mean), and perhaps trying other basics that didn't work before.
Keeping up a workbook is a structured record system, and having it presented here in the forum, alongside so many of your dreamer friends, keeps you focused. So many people will be intent one night and not the next... this keeps you consistently thinking of lucid dreaming, and because the results will be tallied at the end of the month, you won't want to quit in the middle.
Pretty good all around, I'd say.
I got benefit from it for sure. Even though I still need to post my final stats for the month my LDs shot up from two tiny ones the month before to 5 (mostly vivid, decent length ones) last month, almost certainly as direct result of the workshop. Plus my regular recalled dreams and fragments were a lot higher. Again, this is all because of the increased focus. Sorry, life has gotten in the way of forum time for the last two weeks but, not in the way of my sticking to the workshop.
The two tiny LD segments I mentioned was up from zero for nearly months before that.
Thank you, Seeker.
Your workshop helped me lots Seeker. Even when I couldn't commit to a sufficient amount of sleep, my recall was grand. Your workshop was great. And my lucidity count went up to a level I haven't seen in awhile. Thanks Seeker, can't wait to do another workshop under your command~
Thanks Seeker. The workshop gave me a massive boost! It was great fun too. I used to have 1 lucid a week, sometimes 2. In the 6 nights since the workshop ended, I've had 7 lucids.
Looking forward to any future workshops
